Arcelius Dunbar Lyle III, 56, is facing multiple charges in Frederick County following an investigation involving several agencies that formed a “Human Trafficking Response Team.

During the operation, undercover agents set up meetings with people from known websites that advertise prostitution in Frederick County.

Once each woman arrived and contacted the undercover investigator, other investigators would approach and debrief each girl to determine if there were any signs of human trafficking.

A total of five women were involved in the operation.

The result of the investigation led to the arrest of Lyle, who was charged with:

  • Sex trafficking (take cause);
  • Sex trafficking (compensation);
  • Sex trafficking (another government ID).

“Once again, because of great teamwork with our local and federal partners, we were able to effectively identify and dismantle a prostitution and human trafficking network operating in Frederick County,” Col. Dave Benjamin, the sheriff’s office Chief Deputy said.
